Can I get a restricted license for work, if I have a California Commercial Driver License and got a DUI while driving?

Having a Commercial Driver License means that you are held to a higher standard than regular motorists are. This is because of the dangerous materials you can carry and the size of the vehicle you drive. Because you were a commercial driver and got a DUI while you were driving a commercial vehicle, you cannot get a restricted license for work. The only kind of license you would be eligible for would be a restricted Class C only for the purpose of driving to or from a treatment program.
