Ohio drivers likely uninformed about wiper, headlight law

Compliance is low on an Ohio law that requires drivers to turn on their headlights whenever they have their windshield wipers on, according to the Columbus Dispatch.

The news source did an independent investigation to support their claim. Standing out on the side of a major intersection during a rain shower, they counted 67 vehicles within five minutes that were not adhering to the rule. According to their estimates, that represented about 25 percent of traffic on the road. Some of the other 75 percent of drivers were only halfway compliant, having their parking lights on, but not their full headlights, the source said.

The law was implemented for safety purposes, according to city officials.

Road rage attacker publicly apologizes to victim

John Antonacci, a longtime professional driver, recently experienced road rage for the first time when he verbally attacked a woman after she honked at him while he was trying to switch lanes, according to the Quad City Times. However, what was truly unique is the way he responded to the incident.

Eaten away by guilt, which was further confounded by the fact that the woman had her two daughters in the car, Antonacci set out to apologize the best way he knew how – through the internet.

When he arrived home, he wrote the local newspaper an open letter to the woman “in the red car,” giving his “most sincere apology,” the paper reported.

“Instead of just ignoring you, I jumped out of my truck and started yelling and swearing at you.

Arizona Bill to Tow Uninsured Cars Could Cause Headaches for Drivers

The state of Arizona has proposed a new bill which would tow vehicles that do not have auto insurance coverage. Many people have been in favor of this law because it will greatly reduce the number of uninsured drivers that are on the road.

However, some groups have said that the idea has a few kinks that need to be worked out. One being that there is almost five million cars registered in the state. Of these, more than 200,000 have wrong VIN or vehicle identification numbers. If a person has the wrong VIN number on their vehicle then they could be wrongfully accused of not having liability insurance on their vehicle.

Towing a car is very expensive for the state.
