With gas prices approaching $4 a gallon across most of the country, many drivers are struggling to fill their tanks without breaking the bank. To help consumers save money on fuel, Minneapolis’ KSMP-TV has offered some gas saving tips that can reduce motorists’ trips to the pump.

The process of maximizing fuel efficiency, known as hypermiling, can help a car get the most miles per gallon. While unusual, the news station said wind conditions can have a surprising influence on gas mileage.

Toyota and BMW forge partnership to develop new battery technology

New fuel-efficiency standards that are slated to impact vehicles manufactured between 2017 and 2025 have encouraged auto manufacturers to make improvements to their existing plans and adopt new technologies to remain competitive. Toyota and BMW are the latest automakers to plow ahead in the industry, announcing a collaboration that will focus on researching new technologies dedicated to improving lithium-ion batteries.

In a statement, Toyota executive vice president Takeshi Uchiyamada expressed his sentiment that the partnership will aid in the production of new technologies that will improve existing battery models.

A recent study sure makes it sound like insurance companies are doing this. The survey shows that disabled motorists pay more on average than nondisabled motorists do. The study was focused in New York City, NY. It showed that the disabled pay $600 more than nondisabled do. The authors of the study argue that insurance companies are getting around the law that prevents this by charging extra fees to motorists with disabilities rather than charging higher rates. The extra types of coverage are Adaption coverage, mobility insurance, and equipment coverage.
